From Dealer to Graphic and Sound designer in the Poker Social Enterprise Project

Interview with Luca Grossi

Today we’ll get to know Luca Grossi, and we’ll find out how did he get in touch with the Poker Social Enterprise project, what struck him the most, convinced him to take part.

I was introduced by a dear fiend and colleague, who presented the project to me first from the cultural, then from the economic side. Personally, what attracts me the most is the long term vision of the project, that, considering its experimental nature, has the potential to give each member the opportunity to personally evolve and share their skills in a larger contextual project.

Which carrier did you go for and why?

I went for Graphic and sound designer’s one. One of my recent work activities includes the creation of multimedia content, photo editing & flyer design. A core asset of the Poker social Enterprise project lies in the production of graphic contents and jingle music. Thanks to this innovative project, I can monetize these skills in harmony with dealer or floor practices, as needed. I think it’s a great opportunity to share my current skills and improve them.

In your opinion, can the Poker Social Enterprise project really contribute to improving the working conditions of live poker?

It’s definitely a revolutionary idea, with a potentially huge impact, and like any project that’s being born, it will need time to be understood by most of the industry. This will leave the social enterprise pioneers a considerable profit and responsibility to create a respectable basic structure. Seeing that every employee is at the same time an active collaborator of the project can add an important value to the company, giving the employees constant input to feel always motivated.

What impact do you think it can have for a Dealer, managing a table exclusively composed of Pro players?

I would say that a more mechanical job brings less stress and then you can get more appreciation for your skills. You can offer a more professional and pleasant Customer service and have a more homogeneous Team dealers, therefore more responsive. In addition, table control is easier.
